Phumelela Mekuto is a Senior Researcher at Jack Hammer, with 4 years at the firm and 6 years’ total experience in recruitment. Her background spans sales and research roles in retail and higher education, and she’s worked as an independent researcher for an information intelligence agency – experience that, combined with her Master’s degree, gives her a rigorous, evidence-based approach to search.
She works on C-suite, exco, CFO, COO, MD, director, and senior management searches across retail, FMCG, fintech, logistics, financial services, mining, and education, with coverage spanning Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Singapore, South Africa, and Zambia. She’s driven by a passion for ed-tech, politics, and economics, and by the Xhosa saying “ukubola kwebisi kuvuthwa kwamasi” – that failure is simply a chance to restart and try again.
