Phumelela comes with extensive experience in sales and recruitment, gained in retail and higher education in a range of roles. Her Masters degree has provided the foundation for rigorous research, but her application of these skills extends beyond academia, having worked as an independent researcher for an information intelligence agency.
She is motivated by her passion for ed-tech, politics, and economics. Her drive comes from the Xhosa saying “ukubola kwebisi kuvuthwa kwamasi” which loosely translates to: failure should be taken as chance to restart and reboot. Not that we’ve seen much failure from her, but we certainly appreciate her willingness to take risks and learn from her experiences!
