Barbara Hooper

Barbara Hooper is a Senior Principal at Jack Hammer Global, and one of the team’s longest tenured members – with 19 years at the firm and 27 years in executive search overall. She leads searches at C-suite, board, exco, senior management, and senior specialist level, across sectors including financial services (insurance, banking, investment management, fintech), retail, IT, communications, agriculture and forestry, mining, chemicals, professional services, FMCG, property, supply chain and logistics, education, industrial and manufacturing, energy, and philanthropy and non-profit.

Her search work spans South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia, with clients as far afield as Luxembourg and the United States.

She’s known across the firm as the go-to person for the hardest leadership briefs – the more obscure the mandate, the more she enjoys it. Barbara recently led two projects to build the leadership teams behind major financial-inclusion initiatives on the African continent for two of the world’s most impactful philanthropic organisations, work she counts among the highlights of her career. She’s currently located in the UK, where she (apparently) doesn’t mind the weather.
