“A typical school district shares their data with about 1000 vendors.”
– Robert Iskander
Here’s some wild statistics, and if you have kids in school, this is highly relevant. A typical school district shares their data with about 1000 vendors. Yet, school districts often lack the resources to adequately protect student data. They may not have large IT teams or the necessary expertise to implement robust security measures. AND, if someone in the district clicks one wrong link, your kid’s (and your data) is out there on the dark web. The consequences of a data breach can be severe. Student data can be used for identity theft, financial fraud, and other malicious purposes.
It was so eye-opening to talk with Robert Iskander, the CEO of Global Grid for Learning (GG4L), on this week’s podcast episode. Robert is working tirelessly to anonymize and protect student data in an efficient way!
