A list of South Africa’s top business schools

Recent research published by recruitment firm Jack Hammer, concluded that an MBA was no longer the ticket to the top of the corporate ladder. In a previous interview with DESTINY Man, CEO Debbie Goodman-Bhyat of Jack Hammer said that because an MBA was one of the country’s most pursued degrees, it no longer carried the weight it did 20 years ago.

“Ambitious executives considering furthering their education should carefully consider their options and not automatically gun for an MBA as many have done in the past two decades. . . There’s certainly a case for a master’s-level qualification, as the research shows that 45% of South Africa’s top 40 CEOs have obtained these. However, the data confirms there’s no particular preference for the type of master’s degree,” Goodman-Bhyat said.
